Meet our furry friend - Whippet, English Whippet, Snap Dog

The Whippet is a graceful, slender frame, muscular and medium-sized athletic dog - descended from greyhounds but smaller built. It originated in Lancashire and Yorkshire, Northern England around the late 18th century by coal miners.🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Whippets are very intelligent, affectionate, gentle and playful. They love to run and are very fast; they can reach speeds up to 38.5 mph.

Did you know their name may have derived from an Olde English word - “whip it” that meant ‘to move briskly’?🐾
